When you first start with Optimus, we'll put together your own Personalised Lesson Plan. This covers any driving experience you may already have, the best way for you to learn new skills and how we can ensure you feel confident behind the wheel and have some fun.
Together we will devise an individually structured course to make sure that you will be given the best possible chance of passing your test and that you will drive confidently and safely for all your driving life.

I also have all the learning materials that you will need and I will help you work through these and pass the tests, featuring the multiple-choice Theory Questions and the Hazard Perception Test, all the way up to Pass Plus. hen we meet, the first thing we do is talk to you about your level of driving experience, so I can assess the number of lessons you're likely to need. We then chat through the various options open to you for your own lesson plan. Only when you are completely happy with the course decided by the two of us, and the cost, will we go ahead with your own Personalised Lesson Plan, a section of which is shown on the left.
The Driving Standards Agency recommends that learners should have about 40 to 50 hours of lessons and another 20 to 25 hours of practice to be ready for the practical test. With more and more traffic on the roads, you may need more lessons now than were necessary in the past, before you can pull back the roof and head down a road like the one on the right.
Most pupils take at least one 2 hour lesson a week, but it's entirely up to you. A 2 or 1½ hour lesson can offer the best value for money, as there's plenty of lesson time after you've become comfortable in the car.
You can take lessons as frequently as you like, have a one-day or week-long Intensive Course, or take your time and spread your tuition over a longer period.
